Charlottesville, VA—On October 24, Clark joined the University of Virginia President Jim Ryan, Darden Dean Scott Beardsley, Provost Ian Baucom, University Architect Alice Raucher, principal donors Dave and Kathy LaCross, project team members, students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the groundbreaking of the UVA Darden School of Business Student Housing project. The project marks a significant step towards advancing UVA’s mission to cultivate a vibrant and holistic learning community inspired by Thomas Jefferson's original vision of an Academic Village.

Located on Darden’s Goodwin Family Grounds, the new housing initiative will prioritize full-time MBA students with 218 units and 348 beds spread across several new buildings. The units will contain a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. The expansive complex will support Darden in accommodating approximately 60% of its student population, while also serving to address housing shortages in Charlottesville, where the majority of Darden students currently reside.
On-site amenities will include state-of-the-art dining facilities, study spaces, recreational areas, and landscaped courtyards, helping to equip students with an unparalleled learning and university experience.
Clark Construction is the general contractor for this project, with Robert A.M. Stern Architects, LLP leading the design efforts and Matthews Development as the developer.
